The fourth meeting of the Girls
Auxiliary met at the home of
Jeanne Furgerson Wednesday after
noon. The Christmas program was
given by Martha Lou McCracken;
Martha Rich and Dorothy King. De
lightful refreshments were served by
Mrs. Furgerson. •
The Club decided to make a dona
tion to the Red Cross as this month’s
program.

REPAYMENT RECORD OF FSA TP
FARMERS IS MORE THAN 100%
Tenant-purchase borrowers of the;
Farm Security Administration in Re
gion Five (Georgia. Alabama. Florida
and South Carolina) repaid 96.6 per
cent of the amount due with delin
quent payments of only $16,742 out
of $491,525, it was announced thir
week by Edgar C. Young, State FSA
director.
As of June 30. 1941, loans totaling'
$14X791,532 had been made in the four ,
states. Young disclosed. Since that
time additional loans of approximate
ly $9,000,000 were made to about 2,-
300 landless farmers, bringing to a
round 823.000.000 the total loaned to
tenant-purchase farmers.
In Georgia the principal and inter
est due on tenant-purchase loans was
$207,049, while the amount paid was
$242,647 or over 100 percent, the state
director revealed.
“Most of the borowers use the ‘vari
able payment’ plan which is incorpor
ated in the loan,” Young said. “This
plan i£ responsible for the excellent
repayment record of the tenant-pur
chase borowers since it permits them
