to Bainbridge
GEORGIA POWER TELLS
OF PERSONNEL
CHANGES
Larry A. Gunter has been
named the Georgia Power
Company’s district engineer
in Bainbridge, E. J. Willis,
district manager, announced
this week. He succeeds Joseph
M. Woodbury, who has been
promoted to the post of dis
trict superintendent in Tifton.
A native of Atlanta, Mr.
Gunter holds the degree of
bachelor of electrical engineer
ing from Georgia Tech. He
joined the company in 1949,
and has served as the com
pany’s district engineer in
Hapeville since 1956. Mr.
Gunter had been a member of
the chamber of commerce
and of the Eiastland Method
ist Church in Hapeville.
The newly named Bain
bridge district engineer is
married to the former Miss
Jean Cunningham of Atlanta.
They have two daughters,
Kathleen Elaine, 5, and Amy
Jean, 2.
Mr. Woodbury, a native of
Birmingham, Ala-, was gradu
ated from Bainbridge High '
School and attended the Uni
versity of Texas. He joined
the Georgia Power and Light
Company, predecessor firm of
the Georgia Power Company,
in 1941, and had served as
district engineer in Biain
bridge since 1957.
The newly named Tifton
district superintendent was
secretary of the Bainbridge-
Decatur County Hospital
Authority. He is a member of
the Methodist church and is
married to the former Miss
Mary Bruce Gaines of Bain
bridge. The couple has a son,
W. B. Woodbury, and a
daughter, Miss Sally Jo Wood
bury.
