Tlie disease seemed • to baffle the skill of two of our meat prom inent physicians, his brother, Dr. Mar s tin Morrison, who stood by him with -• a brother’s fondest love mingled with the ‘ skill of a physician, until he saw that • tho silver cord was about to bo loosed, - and llio soul of his nobio brother hud - plumed its flight for eternity, then, s overcome with grief and sorrow, lie bowed bis head in submission to the >! will of Providence und left Lis brother, - heart rending us was thu scene, in tlie 1 hands of his God. Dr. J. li. Mobley, - one of the finest physicians in this part r of thu state, was also attendant upon him during bis illuc-.s, and saw tbere was no • iiope for our deceased friend. It is a sad c blow to Lis aged father Mr. David Morrison, as also to his affectionate , mother. They had born unto Hum j seven sons. Mr. John A. Morrison, - prominent merchant of Mt. Yi rnon, who r is widely and favorably known in the* com mimical wo;!.’, ami noted for lib; unswerv ■ ing faithfulness to his ji um-.s -Ids , uprightness and integrity, Mr. Thomas Morrison, a hard working, industrious farmer of onr county; Henry the 3rd sou , died. Dr. Martin Morrison a practising . physician of Mt. Vernon, who is fast wiuuing fume in his profession. Alex. ■ Morrison, who has just entered the mer cantile bnsiness, and gives pr-mise of a success, "Make" as stated was the C'.h r sen, just 21 years old, who had the con - Ihience mid esteem of business men t throughout the county, and a promising , future. Died, At her homo in Montgomery Co. Gm. near Zuider, on the 27th of May, sister ElizaGillis, wifo of David tlillis, aged about 4b years. She was stricken down with tin* dread disease, dysentery: she only lived 8 days. Bho boro her af flictions with the greatest putieuee lover have witnessed; sea rely a murmur ever .:. iped her lips. Nancy A. Gillis the subject of this notice, wa? the daughter of the above, aged about l'.i years. Bh was taken sick t i e day before her moth-, er> death with the same disease, uflo which she only lived one week. Sim I expressed a desire tho evening her mother died, that if it pleased God sfie wanted to bo like her l*y that day week, and aure enough, he fulfilled her wish, j for exactly that day wt. k she passed ! away. They both joined tho Primitive. Baptist church, in July l’sck, aud i Aug. of same year were baptized by Eld. 15. G. Fortner, at Pleasant Grove church, of which they lived consistent members [ until 1 tlth of Nov. 1885, when they both joined the Advent Christian church at i Shiloh, where they lived faithful mem bers till their death.
