Rut to return to the picnic: The ground was too rough tor promeuading, the weather was too warm for dancing, the bont was too mnddy for rowiug, the lioys were too numerous for fair play, and the girls too scarce for an even di vide; but the fish were good, the butter - milk aud potatos appetising, the music enchanting, aud Alex's new buggy “got there.” Many thanks are due to the prime movers in this enjoyable affair.
