The political; situation! in Bulgaria,
since the abdication of, Alexander, the
reigning priuoe, is quite critical, and a
war with Russia seems ioiiueut. Toe
Czar enforced the abdication of their
ruler, who was very popular with ins
people, and now assumes to dictate to
them in tlio selection of bis successor
and in the election of the members of
their law-making assembly. This inter
meddling with their rights is strongly
resisted by the Bulgarians, and hostili
ties may ensue.
Mr. Lawson Sain, a good citizen of
Lnmpkin county,land who was almost
universally beliked, was assassinated, in
a most cowardly manner last week. Iu
passing along the public road, near his
home, in compauy with his nephew, he
was shot from the bushes by some un
known miscreant, dying in a few min
utes.
