Wo have changed our day -f publication to Wednesday, instead of Thursday, in order to accommodate our paper to the changed sehe ule on some of our mail linos. Neat week w< ahull hold it back until Thursday afternoon, j however, in order to give our readers the result j of Wednesday’s election. After that we shall ! endeavor to issue, regularly on Wednesday ’ moriyng— until our Uncle Samivel changes his , schedule again. We have been wonderfully trirdduring the ' last two or three weeks, i:i regard to the paper ' to print the Monitor on. The week before last our weekly supply failed to come, and we de termined to issue only the small sheet that is usually published Christmas week, and then give our readers a full sheet last but when publication day came, the paper had not arrived, and we could only rake up enough of scraps for a half sheet. After it was too late, the paper arrived Pay the Printer. The letter P begins more than forty words in the following paragraph, from 0 western esehauge, each word hearing somewhat upon the delicate subject of “p«v the printer:” “All persons who patronize papers sbonld pay promptly, for the pecuniary prospects of the pren, have u peculiar power tu promoting and pushing for ward public prosperity If the printer is paid promptly, and his pocket book is kept plethoric by prompt ravine- pat. rons. he puts Ins pen to the paper in peace; his paragraph* nrn more pointed; l>e paiuts his pictures of passing events in more pleasing color*, and the perenal of l;i3 paper is t» pleasure to the people. Well, it may be that you will. That’s your business. But you will have to have tickets, yon know. You can t possibly be. ei ctrd without votes. And you can't get votes without tickets. You want to | have them with your own name printed in bold ] letters on th>-r»:. so that your friends can see it I at a glance, and know that they ate voting for ; yon. You can't expect to be elected on other candidates'tickets, for the people would find out that you were trying to sponge v nr way j into office, and drop you. People don't admire I stinginess in a candidate. They like to sen him whole-sot! .1 and lib ral-intuded. V « 1 don't want to do that anyway, even if you could.
