DIED.
At Vidalia, at the Samtorium,
on the morning of Sept. 2d, third
| daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. VV.
! Gibbs. Eliza Junett, the subject
j of this demise was a lovely girl in
her 19th year; amiable, ulleelion
ate, kind in her disp« sition, she
endeared all to her who know her,
!in fact to know her was but to
love her. At home, in the neigh
| bui'liuod, at bciiool, among her
relatives, everywhere Eliza was a
favorite. But, alasl as death hath
darkened his eye, and unplumed
his wing, and rested his chilly
hand upon this beautiful girl ini
the springtime of life, we are
forced to a realization of the
truth that “Death loves a shining
mark.”
She was too pure to linger here
Amid the homes of earth,
Her spirit in another sphere
Had it's immortal birth.
And may we who know her and
loved her so well strive to meet
her in that sphere prepared for
such lovely ones us Eliza. That
the father and mother, brothers
and sisters of Eliza have the sym
pathy and condolence of kind
friends, there is no doubt, but the
only source of comfort to their
grieved and sorrowful hearts are
the promises in Divine Truth.
These afflictions we will all have
to bear sooner or later. Not a
month ago the writer of this was
at her home. She seemed as live
ly and healthy as ever. That
smile which ever lit up her face,
that radiant, genial, warm-hearted
expression, ull seemed to bespeak
a long Mild happy life for her. Yet,
ulas I
She whs not one to live and love
Amid earth’s fading things,
Her being had its home above,
And spread immortal wings,
