Sunday School Convention.
Atlanta, Ga., April 3. The|
program Committee for the State
Sunday School Convention, which l
will be held in Columbus, Ga.,
June 13, 14, and 16, announce
the fact that a number of out
standing Sunday School special
ists have been secured to speak
before this annual gathering of
Sunday School workers of all de
nominations in Georgia.
The program will cover the
many phases of religious educa
tion, including Sunday School ad
ministratin, specialization con- 1
ferences for workers in all de
partments of the Sunday School,
and the new field of religious ed
ucation, week-day religious in
struction.
Among those who have already
been secured to bring to the Sun
day School and church leaders of
Georgia the most progressive,
workable plans in modern Sun
day School work, are Dr. R. A.
Waite, of Chicago, Associate
Young People’s Superintendant
of the Internationational Council
of Religious Education; I)r. W.
E. Chalmers, of Philadelphia,
Secretary of Religious Education
for the American Baptist Publi
cation Society; Dr. A. W. Squires,
of Philadelphia, Director of Week
Day Religious Instruction for the
Presbyterian Board, and Mr. P.
E. Green, of Chattanooga, Field
Secretary of Religious Education
for the Presbyterian Board.
Other out-of-state workers will
be announced later. About
twenty-five of the outstanding
Sunday School workers in Geor
gia will also be on the program.
For the past thirty or more
years, the State Convention, held
under the auspices of the Geor-1
gia Sunday School Association,
has been one of the greatest fac
tors in the religious life of the
State, brimring the outstanding
leaders in Sunday School work of
the whole continent, to confer
with the Sunday School workers
of nil denominations in this state,
bringing best methods and inspi
ration to thousands of pastors, j
officers and teachers. The Con
vention in Columbus will be one
of the best ever held by the As
sociation. “An automobile load
from every Sunday School,” is
the slogan adopted.
Four Square Club Was
Entertained Monday.
The Four-Square Club was en
tertained most delightfully on
last Monday afternoon by the
Misses Peterson. As the guests
arrived they were led to the spa
cious verandah, beautifully dec
orated in roses and dogwood,
where punch was served.
After rook was played, the
game of the afternoon, during
which Miss Jessie Peterson scored
highest, a delicious salad course
was served.
The Club adjourned to meet
with Mrs. Tyler and Miss You
mans next time.
