Music Notes. I
The music class of the y. C. I. will
present the first public program of the
season in the school auditorium Fri
day afternoon, October 27tli.
The chapel program on Monday
morning, the 23rd, will be played by
Juanita Carr. >
In the class lessons recently the pu-j
pils have studied the story of the pi- \
ano, the story of the keyboard, the :
story of the musical alphabet, and
the life of Guido de Arezzo, to whom
we owe many steps in the develop
ment of music. The senior class hasj
begun also the study of transposi
tion.
Clover Leaf Patrol.
The Clover Leaf Patrol members
have made their own individual sig- j
nal flags of red and white, and have
begun steady practice on the code, j
At each meeting a few letters are se- ,
lected, as many words as possible be
ing made from them, and used in send
ing and receiving messages.
The patrol is delighted to have as
a new member Mrs. Geo. S. Roun
tree.
Purple Pansy Fatrol Hikes.
Last Thursday afternoon the Pur
ple Pansy Patrol hl'-ed to the woods j
and there, around a campfire we held
our regular weekly meeting. The
topic for discussion was the three-fold
meaning of Scouting—the mental, the
physical and the spiritual development
of the girls.
Being in the great out-of-doors and
sitting around a campfire always
brings out our best thoughts, and as
we sat there nearly every one present
told what scouting had done for them.
After the program, we had supoer
and ate roasted marshmallows and
told jokes. About eight o’clock we
came home, tired but happy.
Senior Play.
The members of the Senior Class
have begun work on the first of a
series of plays which they hope to;
present during the year. “Kentuckv
Belle,” a comedv in three acts, will
be offered on Friday evening, Novem

The Athletic Drive.
Just as a nation is valued by its
stalwart men, so is a school known
by strong, healthy boys' and girls
| who compose its student body. Vi-j
daiia has the girls and boys, but —
they need athletics.
This week has been set apart for
the purpose of raising funds for the
athletic association. Several ways
and means for doing this are being
put on foot.
Wherever you see an attractive box
be sute to look for the slot and drop
a contribution for the girls athletics.
“The Good Provider” is a picture
full of joy, sorrow, mirth and pathos.
It is a true presentation of real life
and teaches us the one essential im
portance of thrift. Every boy and
girl, man and woman should see it.
In connection with “The Good Pro
vider” we have Harold Lloyd in rip
. ping comedy, “Now or Never.” This
j is one of Mr. Lloyd’s best comedies
and you can’t afford to miss it. Be
sure to secure your ticket from one
of the boys. By doing this you will
help the athletic association.
Miss Purcell will superintend the
sale of doughnuts and hot coffee at
Sharpe’s Drug Store next Saturday.
Don’t! forget to visit the doughnut
stand and save the day for the athletic
association. •

SULPHUR CLEARS
II PIMPLY SKIN
Apply Sulphur as Told When Your
Skin Breaks Out
Any breaking out of the skin on
face, neck, arms or body is overcome
quickest by applying Mcntho-Sulphur.
The pimples seem to dry right up and
go away, declares a noted skin spe
cialist.
Nothing has ever been found to
take the place of sulphur as a pimple
remover. It is > harmless and inex
pensive. Just ask any druggist for a
small jar of Mentho-Sulphur and use
it like cold cream.
