Misses Gladys Sasser and Encil and Leila Oliver spent Thursday in Au gusta. Elder T. E. Sikes is in Culloden, where he is attending a Bible Confer-! ence of the Primitive Baptist church. Mrs. Lee Holton, who has been at the hospital for treatment, was able to be moved to her home Sunday. Mr. P. J. McNatt was able to be out Tuesday, after a week’s illness with dengue fever. Mr. W. L. Downs, superintendent of the Vidalia schools, was off duty last week, suffering from dengjue. Mrs. Lola Ward and Luther Yates spent Sunday in Savannah with rela tives. Mrs. T. J. Ainsworth left Thurs day for a visit of several days with friends in Savannah. Mrs. W. B. Haynes and Miss Erna Haynes have returned from a trip to Savannah and Jacksonville. —Just received a new shipment of heads, containing a beautiful assort ment of imported beads. Mrs. J. E. Thompson. Mrs. Boswell and Miss Martha Bunch of Albany are guests of the fonner’s daughter, Mrs. J. L. John son, this week. Mrs. Inez Wiggs, who has been at the Vidalia Hospital for treatment, is recovering rapidly and will leave the institution Friday. Dr. L. H. Darby, Mr. J. C. Price and Rev. J. T. B. Anderson spent Monday in Mt. Vernon attending a meeting of the executive committee of the Daniell Association. Mrs. J. M. Outler of Mcßae joined Mr. Outler here for the week-end, be ing the guests of Rev. and Mrs. J. F,. Sampley. They left Monday for Mcßae. Friends of Mrs. S. L. Kemp are glad to know of her improvement, af ter several days illness with fever. Mr. B. F. Kirkland of Midville has been visiting his brother, Mr. J. W. Kirkland. Mr. G. L. Thomas has accepted a position with the Darby Lumber Co. at Douglas as book-keeper and will leave the first of the week to enter upon his new duties. His family will continue to reside in Vidalia. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Chapman of Macon motored down Sunday to spend the day with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Donovan. Mr. Don ovan and Mrs. J. B. MACON, Ga., —Bringing t.’elegates j from more than 700 Blue Ixulges in Georgia and consisting of more than $.500 members, the Grand Ixrdgo of Georgia will hold its annual meeting in Macon on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 Pre parations are being made to entertain 1,200 delegates who are expected to attend the meeting. This is the one hundred and thiry-sixth annual com munication of the Grand Lodge. The Macon Chamber of Commerce has appointed a special committee to look after the d'ecorating of the city and to furnish automobiles for the visiting delegates, the downtown mer chants are being requested to decor ate their stores. Banners for this purpose are being furnished by the Chamber of Commerce. Trustees Met Oct- 30. The Masivic Club, a local Masonic civic club, will furnish cars for an automobile ride to the Masonic Home ant. 1 over the city, on tho afternoon of the frist day of the convention. They are also bringing to Macon a team from the Tompkins Lodge U. S., Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., this team being in charge of James M. Trout, W. M. The Master’s degree will be conferred on first night of the meeting at tho City Auditorium for the visiting dele gates and local Masons. * The boars. 1 of trustees of the Mas onic Home will hold Its annual meet ing on Oct. 30. preparing at that time a report for the Grand Lodge. The trustees will also select a suc cessor to Peter V. Rice, Superinten dent of the Home, who has tendered his resignation. The opening session of the meeting will oe devoted! to hearing the annual message of the Grand 1 Master, Joe P. Bowdoin, of Adalrsvllle, and other Grand Lodge officers.
