Mrs. J. E. Darby and Mrs. Fred
Way were joint hostesses Wednesday
afternoon at pretty party at the
home of Mrs. Darby in honor of their
guests, Mrs. W. E. Green of Junction
City and Mrs. Jake Herring of Tif
ton. Chrysanthemums and other fall
flowers were used for decorations
throughout the living room, reception
room and dining room, which were
thrown together for the occasion.
Rook was played at nine tables, Mrs.
Howard Murchison making top score.
Other out-of-town guests included
Mrs. P. T,. Holt of Americus and
Mrs. D. A. Holmes of Vladivostok.
A delicious salad course as served
during the afternoon.

Ernest, the ten-year-old son of Judge
and Mrs. John 1,. Mclntyre, died
last Friday morning, after a brief ill
ness from malarial fever. Funeral
services were held Friday afternoon,
being conducted by Rev. J. T. B.
Anderson. The interment was at the
North J hompson cemetery.

The Oconee Heights Improvement
Club was called to the home of Mrs.
J. Walter Kirkland to discuss the
subject of putting out the trees on the
streets. Their plans being settled on,
they are collecting all they can from
parties interested in this part of the
town, as well as property owners, and <
thank those who will dongte any ,
amount. Those on the committee for \
this purpose are Rev. O. O. Williams, *
