For Mr*. Grover Povey.
One of the most brilliant social
events in the history of Cairo’s
social arena, was the miscelane-
ous shower given Mrs. Grover
Posey by Misses Mary and Nola
Bell on Friday afternoon, August
5th.
The invited guests began to
assemble at 4 o’clock and were
met at the door by Miss Nola
Bell and escorted to the punch
bowl on the end of the porch
where they served delicious grape
juice punch by Misses Lucy Bell
and Ama Brown; they were then
invited into the beautifully dec
orated parlor by. Miss Mary Bell
and Mrs. Charlie L. Browne
where they all had a good time
preparing the shower.
At 5 o’olock Mrs. Posey arrived
in a carriage with Mrs. J. E.
Hursi and was blindfolded at the
door and led in the parlor where
she was seated under the shower
in a rocker; the beautiful crepe
paper holder was then untied and
a large and various assortment
of beautiful gifts fell to the
bride’s lap; the blindfold was
then removed from her eyes that
she might see how she had been
remembered by her friends.
After all had finished looking
at the presents they were invited
to, the dining hall where delicious
ice cream and cake were served.

gowned in a white Marquerite
