Of It, Why Not?
In rending one of our exchanges
some time ago we noticed that a
change had recently been made in
the management of the telephone
exchange and that dissatisfaction
with the new management nnd with
the operators scented to be 'some
what general in the town*. In mak
ing mention of the fact ; the editor
made some such statement ns this,
that they, had been accustomed to
a most excellent service nil' along
bbt that neither his paper nor any
one else 'so'far as h» knew had tak
en any trouble to express their ap
preciation of that service. All this
simply leads us to remark that so
far as this editor can judge that
Cairo is very fortunate in the man
agement nnd in the operators of
her phone system. Wo have an
idbu alspAhnt they are vo|-y much
like all the rest of mankind in that
they will duly appreciate any to
ken on the part of the public that
their efforts to please me not en
tirely wasted.
The work of responding prompt
ly nnd accurately to all the calls,
good natured and otherwise, that
go into a busy exchange is no easy
one, and wo feel that this little
word of commendation for the sorv
ica being received by Cairo patrons
is entirely deserved.
