The defeated candidate can
derive one benefit from an early
primary- He can attribute it to
spring sickness.
We want the candidates who
have failed or refused to an
nounce with us to come down
in our bailiwick on a campaign
tour.
Col Tno. R. Singletary, Cairo’s
candidate for representative, is
saying nothing, but sawing
wood right along. Of course
he goes in.
It seems to us that it is high
time the Democratic party cen
ter on one of the would-be can
didates, or else dump the whole
shebang and trot out a new
man. Between Hearst, Bryan
and Cleveland the party stands
little show of ever accomplish
ing much.
The chances are that a new
candidate for the legislature will
soon enter the field, says the
Thomasville Times-Enterprise.
We say let him come-—the more,
the merrier. With the excep
tion of that of sheriff no office
in the county is being contested
for. However if any be coming
it is high time to step into the
ring and show himself, as the
primary is near at hand.
The many friends of Hon. W.
M. Harrell in this section will
be glad to know of the evidences
of his election to the judgeship
of the City Court of Bainbridge
in the coming primary. From the
different precincts of Decatur
county comes the report that he
is the candidate of the people.
To those who know Mr. Harrell
this is no surprise, for he is a
self-made man and owes his suc
cess in life to his own personal
efforts. His hosts of friends
here will be glad to see him
elected.
There seems to be quite a
deal of carelessness upon the
part of some of the mail clerks
on the west bound trains of the
A. C. L. here of late. Not in
frequently are mail pouches
ried by this point and the
ple are forced to wait for
mail. On last Sunday all
daily papers from the north
carried by and only
their readers on Monday
ing. This is not right, for
people pay for their papers in
der to get the news while it
news and the postal
have arranged so that they
delivered without delay, and
looks strange that simply on
count of a little carelessness
whole thing is upset and
papers become, one might
worthless. The Atlanta
frequently go by and come
when there is no excuse for it.

Inflammatory Rheumatism Cured
William Shaffer, a brakeman, of
nison, Ohio, was confined to his bed
several weeks with inflammatory
matism. “I used many remedies,”
says. ‘‘Finally I sent to McCaw’s

able to go to work as happy as a clam. i)

Proper Treatment of
Pneumonia is too dangerous a
for anyone to attempt to doctor himself,
although he may have the proper
dies at hand. A physician should
be called. It should be borne in
however, that pneumonia always
from a cold or from an attack of the
and by the proper treatment of these
eases a threatened attack of
may be warded off. There is no
whatever about this, as during the
years and more that Chamberlain’s
Remedy has been used, we have yet
learn of a single case of a cold or
of the grip having resulted in
when this remedy was used. It is
used by physicians in the treatment
pneumonia with the best results. Dr.
J. Smith, of Sanders, Ala., who is also
druggists, says of it: ‘‘I have been
jChamberlain’s Cough Remedy and
scibing it in my practice for the past
years. I use it in cases of
and have always gotten the best results. »
