A CJt>/ OF A LETTER
WRITTEN BY OUR SAVIOR
* > • . =%

_
The following aucieut letter was
published in the Water Valley
Courier in December 1867, and
said to have been copied from the
orignai letter, which was furnished
the editor by Mr. Jeffers. Dy re¬
quest of a subscriber we reproduce
it in Times-Courier.
“This letter was found eighteen miles
from Inconium, sixty-five years after
our blessed Savior’s Crucifixion, trans¬
mitted from the Holy City>by a convert¬
ed Jew,’ faithfully translated from the
original Hebrew copy now jn possession
of the Lady Cuba’s family at Mesopo¬
tamia. This letter was written Dy
Jesus Christ, and found under a great
stone, both round and large at the foot
of the cross, 18 miles from Inconium,
near a village called Mesopotamia.
Upon the stone was written or engraved
‘ ‘Blessed be he who shall turn me over. ”
People who saw it prayed to Goa
earnestly, and desired he would make
.mown to them the meaning of this
.vriting, that they might not attempt
in vain to turn it over; in the meantime
there came a little child about six or
seven years old, and turned it over
without auy help or assistance to the
admiration of the people who stood by;
aud under this stone was found this
letter written by Jesus Christ, and was
carried to the city of Inconium, and
there published by a person belonging
j 0 the Cuba; and in the letter was
written two commandments of Jesus
Christ, signed by Angle Gabriel,twenty
eight years after our Savior’s birth.
A LETTER Ob’JESUS CHRIST.

“You shall not omy go io church

and maid-servants, and observe my
words, to obey my commandments. You

in the afternoon by six o’clock at which

brotherly love, and they that are not bap¬

the church, in so going I will give you
long life and many blessings; you.- land

Disreputable hicihods.
“As low as has been the standard
of character of cotton used by the
New York Exchange, I see by the pa¬
pers last Saturday big^et that a big cotton
house, the ^ich perhaps in the
United States, is supposed to
be heavily short on the New York Ex
change, has been endeavoring to force
the exchange to accept and certify a
large amount of additional very low
character cotton heretofore rejected
by the exchange. I do not believe the
officers of the cotton exchange will
dare to yield to this demand. If they
do the law should be used to strike
both the cotton house and the ex¬
change. The ‘ difficulty, however, is
that one small, ordinary dealer can
not carry the burden. It requires an
organization Ion of manufacturers and cot*
men to meet the situation.
“I have certainly pointed out a suf¬
ficient number of lines of conduct pur¬
sued on the New York Exchange to
show that the system is unfair, if not
disreputable. Its unfair means of de
livery gives sellers upon the exchange
