One of the most beautiful affairs
given during the D. A. R. confer¬
ence, held here last week, in honor
of the visiting delegates and their
hostesses, was the buffet luncheon
at which the U. D. C. entertained
at the lovely home of Mrs. E. 0.
Lee, on Monticello St., Thursday.
The house never appeared more
beautiful than on this occasion
when the entire lower floor was
thrown into one aud decorated
with palms, ferns, foliage plants
and the most magnificent chrysan¬
themums, iu yellow and white.
A most delicious salad course,
followed by an ice course, was
served by Misses Sara and Bonner
Simms, Juie Tripp, Flora Carr,
Jule Stilwell, M; ry Carter, Eveli¬
na Middlebrooks, Charlie Porter

Rainey, occurred Wednesday af¬
ternoon at the home of the bride
in Midway.

A very pretty home marriage of
this week was that of Miss Annie
Carr and Mr. W. N. Rainey, which
took place at the beautiful old co¬
lonial home of the bride, in Mid¬
way, on Wednesday afternoon.
The home was beautifully deco¬
rated with ferns, palms and num¬
bers of handsome chrysanthe¬
mums.
The only attendants were, Miss
Flora Carr and Mr. Oliver, Miss
Frances Henderson and Mr. Hugh
, Wright. The bride wore a hand

and gloves to match
. The ceremony was performed by

beautiful and impressive manner.
