The occasion was the assembling
0 f a number ot Covington s young
mothers, marking the first meet
ing of the Mothers Circle after its
organ ization recently at the home
of Mrs. Burton Davis, the presi
dent.
This meeting gave the members
the opportunity of observing for
the first time the president from
the viewpoint of a presiding officer,
and it was the unanimous opinion
that the Circle had made no mis¬
take in the selection of its execu
tive head.
Among the interesting features
of th H session which was given
over almost entirely to the trans
action of business was the adop
tioi) of the constitution and by¬
laws as drawn up by the commit
tee which included Mesdatnes R.R
Fowler,Wooten and Hays. Ocher
matters of importance were con¬
sidered looking to the larger hopes,
ideals and endeavors of the Circle
as becoming of ultimate and real
service to the mothers.

rection of Mrs. A H. Foster.

field, was the guest of Miss Ruby
Weaver last week and attended
the dance Friday night.

for several days, have returned to
