OBITUARIES
Bob Clark
Mr. Robert Dale “Bob” Clark, age 72, of Means
ville, was born on April 29, 1949 and passed away on
October 11, 2021. He was born in Kearney, Nebraska,
son of the late Earl Clark and Wanola Bissell Clark.
Bob was a veteran
of the United States
Navy, serving aboard
the aircraft carrier
USS Ranger. During
his military career,
he was stationed
in San Diego for his
basic training in
1967. After serving a
year in Guantanamo
Bay, Cuba, he was
attached to Attack
Squadron 56 on the
USS Ranger (CVA-61).
He finished up his
hitch in the Navy at
Treasure Island in
San Francisco, and
then returned to his hometown of Gibbon, Nebraska
after his discharge. Bob learned how to cook in the
military, a skill he used throughout his life.
He worked as a welder for many years, providing
for his family and teaching his children a relentless
work ethic. He never shunned a full day’s work and
was a master craftsman in metal working. He worked
at Magni-Fab of Georgia for 19 years. In 1985, he
and his wife Diana opened B & D Ceramics next to
their home in Meansville. Bob’s parents were in the
ceramics business. When they retired, he bought
their inventory and made several trips from Georgia
to Nebraska in a Ryder truck to bring everything to
their shop in Meansville. For 38 years, he has carried
on his parents’ work and their legacy.
Bob loved all animals, and practically had his own
zoo. Among his pets were goats, rabbits, an emu, an
ostrich, and various wild creatures that wandered up
to his back door for food.
Bob is survived by his children: Becky Watts (James)
of Zebulon, Dixie Benson (Nathan) of Barnesville, Brian
Clark of Meansville, and Heather McLaurin (Kerry) of
Macon; grandchildren: Arielle, Will, Mikayla, Kiera, Rob,
Luke, Gianna, Kaiden, Christian, Asher and Roxy; his
former wife of 47 years: Diana Clark of Forsyth; sisters
and brothers: Eulah Gangwish (Alex) of Nebraska, Dick
Clark of Nebraska, Don Clark (Mary) of Colorado, Bill

Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends visited the family on Sunday, October 17
from 6 to 8 p.m. at Barnesville Church of the Naza-
rene, 744 Veterans Parkway, Barnesville. A memorial
service will be held in Nebraska at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
