PIKE COUNTY SCHOOL DIS
TRICT, GEORGIA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that on the 2nd day of Novem
ber, 2021, a special election will
be held at the regular polling
places in all the election districts
of Pike County at which time
there will be submitted to the
qualified voters of Pike County
for their determination the ques
tion of whether a special sales
and use tax for educational pur
poses of one percent shall be
levied, imposed and collected
on all sales and uses in Pike
County for a period of time not
to exceed twenty (20) calendar
quarters, beginning with the cal
endar quarter following the cal
endar quarter in which the sales
and use tax for educational pur
poses presently in effect expires,
and for the purpose of raising
not more than $14,600,000 of
net proceeds by said tax, which
shall go to the School District for
the purpose of (i) adding to, ren
ovating, repairing, improving,
and equipping existing school
buildings, school system fa
cilities and athletic facilities; (ii)
paving and improving campus
roads and parking lots and im
proving Americans with Disabili
ties Act compliant accessibility
throughout the school system;
(iii) acquiring miscellaneous
new equipment, fixtures and
furnishings for the school sys
tem, including HVAC equipment,
computer technology equip
ment, computer software, athlet
ic equipment, kitchen and dining
hall furnishings and equipment,
school buses and other vehicles,
transportation and maintenance
equipment, and safety and se
curity equipment, and (iv) ac
quiring land with the maximum
cost of the projects described in
items (i)-(iv) payable from said
tax being $14,600,000; (v) pay
ing any general obligation debt
of the School District issued in
conjunction with the imposition
of such sales and use tax; and
(vi) paying the expenses inci
dent to accomplish the forego
ing.
The ballots to be used at
such referendum shall have writ

purposes of the Pike County
School District described in
items (i)-(iv) above and for the
purpose of payment of a portion
of the interest on such debt.
If the imposition of such
tax is approved by the voters,
such vote shall also constitute
approval of the issuance of gen
eral obligation debt by the Pike
County School District in the ag
gregate principal amount not to
exceed $11,250,000 for the pur
poses of the Pike County School
District described in items (i)-
(iv) above and for the purpose
of payment of a portion of the
interest on such debt. The maxi
mum rate of interest such gen
eral obligation debt will bear is
not to exceed 5.0% per annum,
and the aggregate amount of
principal to be paid in each year
during the life of such debt will
be as follows:

2025- $2,185,000
2026- $2,675,000
2027- $3,250,000
Any brochures, listings, or
other advertisements issued by
the Pike County Board of Edu
cation, or by any other person,
firm, corporation, or association
with the knowledge and consent
of the Board of Education, shall
be deemed to be a statement of
intention of the Board of Educa
tion concerning the use of the
proceeds of the general obliga
tion debt to be issued in connec
tion with the sales and use tax
for educational purposes.
The several places for hold
ing said referendum shall be
at the regular and established
voting precincts of the election
districts of Pike County, Georgia,
and the polls will be open from
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the date
fixed for the referendum. All
polling places will be open.
The last day to register to
vote in this referendum shall
be October 4, 2021 through 5:00
p.m. The deadline to submit
absentee ballot applications is
October 22, 2021.
Those residents of Pike
County qualified to vote at such
referendum shall be determined
in all respects in accordance
with the election laws of the
State of Georgia.
This notice is given pursuant
to a resolution of the Pike Coun
ty Board of Education adopted
on July 20, 2021.

The proposed project is lo
cated on CR 333/Concord Road
at Birch Creek, approximately 2
miles north of the city of Con
cord. The project is located
100% in Pike County, Congres
sional District 3, within Land Lot
145, Land District 1, and GMD
505. The total length of the proj
ect is approximately 0.2 miles.
The proposed bridge would
be a three-span bridge, approxi
mately 135 feet long by 29.75
feet wide over Birch Creek and
would be constructed on exist
ing alignment. The proposed
roadway typical section will in
clude two travel lanes that are
11 feet wide with shoulders that
are six feet wide (2 feet paved, 4
feet grassed). An off-site detour
will be utilized and the estimat
ed time for construction is 12
months.

Public Notice - Correction
City of Williamson
The proposed fiscal year 2022 budget will be presented to the
Williamson City Council members at a Special Called meeting
at 6:30 PM on October 21, 2021 at the Williamson City Hall.
The proposed FY 2022 budget reflects another decrease in the
city tax millage rate for Williamson City residents. A copy of the
proposed budget is available at City Hall for residents of Wil
liamson to review if desired.
A public Budget Hearing will be held at 6:30 P.M. at Wil
liamson City Hall, 71 Midland Street, on Thursday, 28 October,
2021 at which time persons wishing to be heard on the budget
may appear. A special called meeting will be held at 6:30 P.M.
on Thursday, November 4, 2021 to adopt the budget and set the
2022 millage rate by enactment of a budget resolution.
Due to Covid-19 safety requirements, the above meetings may
be held at the Williamson Walking Trail Park pavilion to allow
