Maj. David Neal honored for 20 years service
Maj. David Neal of
the Pike County Sheriff’s
Office was honored for
20 years of service dur
ing the Nov. 10 board of
commissioners meeting.
County manager Brandon
Rogers thanked him for
his years of dedicated
work in Pike and noted
that he is an integral part
of the sheriff’s office.
“You know how hard
it is to get someone to
stay in law enforcement
for 20 years? David has
been the voice of the
sheriff’s office through his
communication with the
media and he also does a
lot of behind the scenes
work,” said sheriff Jimmy
Thomas. “He not only
does a phenomenal job,
he has become a friend
and that means a lot. Da
vid is on call 24-7 and he
can get calls from Monday
through Sunday at night,
in the middle of the day,
anytime. He deals with
employees in 911 center,
the jail and all other divi
sions and he is one of the
cogs that keeps the wheel
rolling. He’s continued his
education over the years
and this year he finished
up his bachelor’s degree.
What a legacy to have an
employee who stays for
this many years.”
