From all accounts, the mail service of
the South is reflecting no credit on the
Democratic administration. It is bad
policy to keep so many of our political
enemies on picket duty.—Ocala Capitol.
South Carolina has had three lynch-

The Macon Evening News gets off
this conundrum: If Christopher Col

mutiny on board his caravels just before
he discovered America, where would

Atlanta’s latest sensation is the disap

somebody’s money. We are not prepar

suggest that he might be found at Cora

Now comes the information that Re

to assist in the Central’s cases. Attor

Chicago has a republican postmas

democrat, with a petition signed by
65,000 people, has been trying to get
in ; but for some reason the demo

doesn’t seem to care to have the
change made. This thing of republi
cans holding offices all over the coun

government that ought to be filled by
democrats is getting to be monoto

Beware of Ointments for Catarrh that
contain Merenry,
as mercury will surely destroy the sense
of sinell and completely derange the
whole system when entering it through
the mucous surfaces. Such articles
should never be used except Qn pre
scriptions from reputable physicians, as
the damage they will do is ten fold to
the good you can possibly derive from
them. Hall’s Catarrh Cure, manufac
tured by F. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo, O.,
contains no mercury, and is taken in
ternally, acting directly upon the blood
and mucous surfaces of the system. In
buying Hall’s Catarrh Cure be sure you
get the genuine. It is taken internally
and is made in Toledo, Ohio, by F. J.

Did you ever see a bald-headed wo
man ? No, we never did. Nor did wc
ever see a woman waltzing around town
in her shirt sleeves with a cigar in her
teeth, and stepping into every saloon she
saw. We have never seen a woman go
a-fishing with a bottle in her pocket,
and sit on the damp ground all day and
then go home drunk at night. Nor
have we ever seen a woman yank off her
coat, spit on her hands and say she will
whip any man in town. No! God bless
her, she isn’t built that way.—Southern
