At Lulaton, WayDe county,
last Friday night, the store of
J. L. Courson was entered by
burglars and the safe blown
open. Two hundred and fifty

Some of the silver was found

rests upon two strange white

ATTEMPT AT RAPA
A dastardly outrage was attempt
ed on the person of Mrs. Taylor,
at St. Mary’s river, near Folkston,
one night last week. Milton Jen
kins, a vicious negro, entered the
house unobserved shortly after Mr.
Taylor, who is the watchman for
the Savannah, Florida & Western
railroad at the St. Mary bridge,
had left for his night watch, and
secreted himself until Mrs. Taylor
had retired. He then proceeded to
execute his hellish crime. Fortun
ately, Mrs. Taylor discovered him
ere.&c could hush herorios by grap
pling her throat, and ahe cried
lustily, and help soon came and
drove the monster from the thresh-
hold before he had accomplished
his object. He was pursued and
captured, and had a preliminary
trsl and .was committed. He was
then turned over to Sheriff T. B.
Henderson, of this county, and is
now securely fettered in the Way-
cross jail.—Savannah News.
