him, to remain with him until death.
Mr Cason granted the request and
i^mained with the suffering man until
death relieved him. Tender and syro-
patetic hands did all they could for

Birmingham, England, Dec. 29.—
The Post asserts that English com
mercial houses to Ruuds have made
a renewed representation to the for
eign office asking for protection. Re
ports of the firms from Moscow and
other centers of the revolt are worse
than those which have appeared in
Uie newspapers, and show conditions
to be much more grave than they are
painted. The foreign office is ready
to offer assistance, but believes that
the best chance for affording safety
to the foreign residents lies In a joint
action by the various powers, and it
is anxious to wait until the powers
are ready to act in concert.

Glasgow Scotland, Dec. 29.—The
correspondent of the Herald, at St.
Petersburg, confirms thv wired report
of the London Times correspondent
to the effect that a crisis In the Bal
tic provinces has led to international
complication and the exchange of
sharp notes hot ween Berlin and SL
Petersburg. Russia was angered at
Germany's proposal to send warships
to Riga to protect German residents,
and made a warm protest against
such action. Germany Insists upon
the necessity of affording protection
to Its subjects In the Baltics.
