M. J. Meeks, who Is postmaster at
NlchoUs, was the first witness,
swore that the robbery occurred on
the night of February 24. He said
the safe' contained 1100 In cash and
*190 In stamps and other valuables.
Ke did not know who committed
the robbery but saw evidence of the
. safe .being .removed from the build
ing. aa the steps were completely
demolished, showing that the safe
was removed from the building. His
evidence was not material.
Joseph L. Rolf was next celled. Mr.
RbS Is a merchant at NlchoUs and
claims that Hill, one of the defend
ants. admitted jokingly to him that
ha had secured *75 from the safe.

last Friday in the office of the South
ern Pine Company at NIchools and
told him that he expected to he ar

willing to swear that he was at hit
