lanta Friday night returned to Way-
cross last night, among them being
A. Price, J. M. Cox, J. It. Whit
man, J. M. Hammerly, J. A. Jones and
C. S. Hardy. Others who attended
the banquet will remain in North
Georgia a day or two longer. *

ces in the LeGrand hotel building.
Mr. M. L. Byck, has been appointed
district agent for the company and he
will bo assisted by. Prof. S. P. 3ettles

ton returned to Savannah this morn
ing. Miss Ulmer is a well known
teacher of elocution and will leave
Savannah In a few days for Boston
where she will spend several months
in special study In the Boston School
of Expression.
The badges worn by the Waycross
delegation to the Atlanta, Birming
ham and Atlantic banquet at the New
Kimball House Friday night had the
words “Waycross, the Cradle of the
A., B. and A.” The badges attracted
a gTefll (leaT of attention and were
w'ortt by President Atkinson and oth
er officers of tbe road. Mr. V. L.
Stanton's speech before the banquet
was considered among the best of the
evening.

been elected superintendent of the
Alma Polytechnic School for next
year. Prof. Settle has had an ex
perience of 30 years as a successful
teacher and discipiiarian, and his pu
pil*, many of whom are now mar
ried, speak in the highest praise of
him as a teacher.—Alma Gazette.
The Alma Land Company built and
presented to the town a buifding and
furniture including a fine piano at
a total cost of $10,000.00. This is a
princely gift and enables the School
Board to employ a teacher of repute
