Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 24.—-William
Bryan is today digesting the reply
of Roosevelt to the Haskell charges.
He refuses to make a statement until
he thoroughly familiarizes himself
with the contents. Hisgen's denial to
the charges brought against himself
elects him to Roosevelt's aimanias
club.
Dispatches today say that Oklahoma
gasyed when Roosevelt's reply was
read. There are many rumors as to
Haskell's removal from the National
Committee.

SPEECHES IN OHIO.

speeches to enormous crowds marked j
the second entry of W. J. Bryan, Dem
ocratic candidate for President, into
Ohio during the present campaign. His
concluding speech was made here to
night to an overflow crowd of 20,000
persons, while just previously he had
addressed the larzest audience that
ever had assembled in Memorial Hall.

Summerville. Ga.. Sept. 24.—R. I
Williams was today sentenced to twen
ty years in the penitentiary for crlm
inal assault on a nine-year-old girl. He
was brought here from Atlanta under
a guard of sixty deputies. After the
sentence he was sent back to the At
lanta jail. The Jury was out for 18
hours on the case.

Mr. White stated further mat, in view
of the chances mentioned and exten
sive advertising, the coming tourist
season woud surpass arn- of Florida's
history.

lar meeting of Council Inst nlg.it an
ordinance was passed providing for

Those who are sentenced to the farm
will not wear® stripes but will be suits
of brown. They will till the soil, and
perform other light service. The farm
is to be established because of the over
crowded condition of*the Chatham
county Jail. The county commission
