MINUTE8 LATER.
A long distance ‘phone message,
from Swainsboro, Ga., to the Herald j
this morning told of the suicide of Mr.
Geo. H. Bell, who, after a sensational
trial, was only re^gntly released from
the asylum at Mlllegeville. Mr. Bell
had been to Atlanta and was return
ing to his home at Swainsboro on
a Central of Georgia train, and when
the train neared Toomsboro t.iis morn
ing about 3 o'clock, he cut his throat
with a pocket knife, U.viiig ten minutes
later.
The readers of tin? Herald are al
ready familiar with the fight made by
Mr. W. D. McNeil, of Macon, and oth
ers that resulted in Bell's release from
the-asylum at Mllledgeville. Since hfs
release. Bell had been staying with his
father at Swainsboro.
Mrs. Rosa Bell and little daughter,
accompanied by her father. Dr. Frank
C. Polks, will leave tonight for
Swainsboro to attend the funeral,
.Which will occur tomorrow afternoon
at 2 o’clock.
