BUI l» Being Prepared to Create
New Jurisdiction.
Brunswick, Hay 14.—The congestion
of the docket, o( the various ^iperlor
courts ot the Brunswick circuit may
he relieved by the passage hy the
legislature of a biU to create a new
circuit composed of Camden, Olynn
Wayne, Appling and Jeff Davis coun
ties.
A meeting of local atorneys held
this evening called for a conference
here on May ft and 27, to coropletee
the details of proposed bill. Not a dis
senting vote was shown against the
movement to create a new circuit
though three or four combinations are
suggested.
Indications are now that the cir
cuit will be created since the bar of
every county favors the change. At
torneys Whltefleld, Krauts and Rees
have chslfe of the local campaign.

The home team turned the tables
on Cordele yesterday afternoon, tak
ing the second game of the aeries of

will again be given tbe opportunity
of voting on tbe city ownership of an
electric light plant and Saturday.
June 1$ has been named as tbe day
to vote on the Issuance of bonds for
tbe purchase of an electrical plant
hy the city.
The question was up before the city
council at Its regular monthly meet
ing last night and' action ou the mat
ter was taken. The election will call
for authorisation to sell $36,000 city
bonds for the sole purpose of Instal
ling an electric light plant. Only
those cltlcens of the city who were
registered hyt year will be entitled to
vote In tbe bond election, according
to the law.
KANSAS STORM DOES DAMAGE

Concordia, Kan., May H.—Three

Hutchins, Kan., Hay 14.— At least
two persons were killed and 15 Injured
by a tornndo In the vicinity, of Great

Kansas City. Mo.. May 14.—Twenty

on the subject, the Herald will in fu
ture refer to this suburb as "Hebard-
*H!e.”

with his prisoner near Jesup until late
last night Constable W. O. Stricklaiu!
Sagged a train on the Southern Rail
road and hurried to Macon, .having In
custody Robert .Banks and Ceorgd Rob
ertson, two of the negroes who escaped
rom the Wayne county Jail after as
saulting and louring Deputy Sheriff
Madray for dead In tbe Jail yard.
Rumors that efforts would bo made

ot summarily punishing them,'caused
Constable Strickland to keep tba twa
negroes away from Jeaup and to sn-

to 8avennah or Wayeroee for safe
keeping. Intending all the lima to take

The negroes were caughtyesterday
afternoon while they were trying to
escape In a boat on the AKamaha
iver. They were held up by Cato
Mien, a negro, who covered the men
with n gun end held' them until Mr.

and that they bed so tittle to eat since
their escape that they were almost too
weak to etond. Deputy Walker went
with Mr. 8trlckland and remained In
charge of the prisoners while the Bit
ter went to Jesup and awore out war
rants for the men, charging them wjth
assaulting Deputy Madray with Intent
Ic murder. . ’
