Cord; irensurcr,. Robert F. Shoddon.
An executive committee and a board
of trustees alsu were chosen.
It la tite purpose of tho league -to
Inaugurate a campaign for the better
enforcement of the law against crim
inals and tho better care of criminals
who are convicted, with a view to
making them, after leaving .prison,
good citizens.
It la proposed to urge the formation
of similar leagues In other countlee
of the state, and make, the tpovement
statewide.

BAINBRIDGE GETS
NEXT CONFERENCE.
Columbus, Gig, Dye, 3.—For the
firet time Balnbrldge will entertain
the South Georgia Mothodlet confer
ence next year, the conference voted
unanimously , to meet In the South
west Georgia city In 1911. The. Invi
tation was extended by the Rev. A.
M. Williams, presiding elder of the
ThomuvUle district, and was the only
Invitation received by the conference,
although It bad been reported that
Macon might make a hid for the meet
ing.
The Methodist at Balnbrldge have
a new church and the congregation
has Invited the conference more than
once to meet there. Tbs Rev. W. E.
Arnold Is the present pastor at Baln
brldge.

The Knights of Modern Maccabees

gained the honors of full knighthood.
It was nn inspiring scene, the Sir
Knights end Squires donning their
armour had bid terewell to wife and
sweetheart and wKh loytl hearts bad
ridden forth to do heroic deeds of
chivalry. Doughty Knights end Squir
es were present from Bit craggy cliffs
of Swedes the bonnle vales of Scot
land, the green bogs ot Ireland, the
white, cliffs ot England, the Sunny
elopes of France, the enow swept
plalnxi of Canada, the veld Hand ot
aouthera Africa the plot-land of North
era Germany, the ralea of rugged
Wales and the sun klssecd land of
Dixie, met together to take and main
tain allegiance fraternal and loyal.
It was a pleasant evening and dee
