MRS. J. F. CREEL DEAD.
After a lingering illness, Mrs. J. F.
Creel died last-niglit at 8:30 at the
hcKtu 1 ou Iilizabelli sOeet. ( . Mrs.
Creel is survived by her husband and
three child 1 en. Mrs. K. \y. Fain of
(his city, Mrs. Collins of Texas and
Dr. J. T. Creel of Dothan, Ala. The
funeral service will be held tills eve
ning at eight o'clock at the home on
Elizabeth street. The remains will
be taken to Cdison for Interment.
Rsv. W. "H. Scruggs, assisted by the
other ministers of the city will con
duct the service. Friends are invited
to attend the funeral at tltejiome this
evening.

The Central Baptist service held at
the opera house last night was large
ly attended. Rev. W. H. Scruggs
preached a magnificient sermon, using
for his subject “How to Keep on the
Snug Side of Life." The song serv
ice as usual was fine and an especial
ly enjoyed number was the solo sung
by Miss Addle Bell Lowther and a
beautiful cornet duet by Messrs
Marks and Cornell.
