Herring, of this city, had his leg amputated at the Grady Hospital last week, as the result of a wound which he received in the civil war. His foot was shattered in the battle of Ben- tonsville, X. C., when the famous old 42nd Georgia regiment charged a fed eral battery. One of the bursting shells mutilated his foot, and the toes had to be amputated, but he had been moving about spry enough on what was left until the old wound be gan to give him trouble a week or two ago. Judge Herring is 64 years old, and is recovering splendidly from the operation. Read the Herald. WARNING TO REAL ESTATE BUYERS AND AGENTS!
