CARNIVAL DURING SEEKTOPROTECI
AVIATION WEEK RETAIL TRADE
Despite tho cold wind blowing lust
night the streets of our city were
quite warm with people discussing the
proposition, pro and con, to have a
carnival here to help to entertain the
visitors during the aviation meeting
or not. And without doubt the carni
val question in Waycross seems al
most as troublesome as the cow ques
tion, and the argument against the
carnival in the opinion of some peo
ple is as archaic as the argument for
the cow.
It was an amusing situation last
night. The good folks of Waycross
were gathered together in groups. In
one group was a body of men who
were not in favor of having a car
nival at same time as the aviation
meeting, as they did not want to of-
I fend the merchants who were op
posed to it and were contributing to
aviation meeting. In next group
were merchants, much incensed that
anyone should think they were so
nar.ow as to oppose a carnival com
ing to Waycross.
In the third group a large body of
working men, very much disturbed
and angry that anyone should oppose
something where they might derive
tome pleasure, or venture to dictate
how they should spend their bird
earned money. So there you are.
You could join, which ever group you
may like and agree or disagree. Hut
I yon will agree the carnival is a warm
question in Waycross. Apparently
