New York. Feb. 27.—Mb. Maldwin
Drummond, formerly Mrs. Marshall
Field, Jr., of Chicago, was robbed of
n fortune In jewels during last night
•board a trans-Atlantic liner. Ota-
tuohds, pearls and other gems to the
value of approximately $130,000 disap
peared mysteriously from her state
room on the steamship Amertka of
the Hamburg-Amot lean line some
between 0:30 o’clock last evening ami
5:30 this morning.
The loss was reported imm diately j
after the liner docked at Hoboken
and the police of Hoboken and New
York aro working on tho case. Mrs.
Drummond hurried to the hotel Pla
za, declining to discuss her loss.
