MOTTO-WILL BE U8ED ON
ALL STATIONARY AND ON
BOOSTERS BUTTONS.
Wanted—A Motto.
Wayc:o6s has been known for a
long time as the queen city of Wire-
grass Georgia. That s an appropriate
name, and one that attracts atten
tion. But the Board of Trade, in ad
dition to this name, wants another
one, a motto, by which Waycross
will become bettor known than ever.
For instance, Macon has one like
this “Macon, tho city to tie to."
Charleston says: “You can get it in
Charleston." Now what motto Is-
best for Waycross to (adopt? It
must be short three words naturally
preferred, but an many as six or
eight could bo used easily.
The motto contest is open to all.
Tho only conditions are these: all
suggestions must be sent by mall to
the Board of Trade, and must be re
ceived net later than March 8. The
Board of Governors of tbe board of
trade will be notified by tho secre
tary of the suggestions offered, and
the selection will be made by them. ^ 0$

is a tenor robusto of noto and ha» l date, nnd no suggestions will be re-
been connected for some time with
tho great Bach Choir of Bethlehem,
Pa., and ho has wide experience in
the musical field.
Tbe school of music will be locat
ed is the tatt-HItch building, and
the director., will at once go to work
to organize a symphony orchestra
for Waycross. Also a choral society
to improve the musical standard of
i Woyctoss. To master and give in
series of musical festivals the great'
works of Bach, Beethoven, Wagner,
etc.
If these ambitious plans can be
carried out, there Is no reason why
Wnycross should not surge to the
front ranka as a cultivated musical
city.
