Johnson, a white man, shot land killed his wife, Minnie Johnson* and then apparently turned the weap on upon himself, blowing out his own door, both bullets entering her brain through her eyes, a horrible one. Mrs.'?! ayes states that Johnson was perfectly sober yesterday and last night she heard no sound of quarrel ing. '* This morning at 7:45 a. ra, t she left the house to go and get milk, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Johnson setting by the fire, apparently good friends, and re turned in about -15 minutes. On at tempting to enter the house througn the front door, which is glass, sh? looked, in and saw her sister in a sitting position in the corner by the door, with blood streaming down her face, and the man on the floor with his face in a pool of blood. Calling for assistance, she got into the house and found her sister quite dead and the man dying. Apparently the crime must have been committed hastily and the wo man shot as she strived to open the Judge J. L. Spence of Way- cross being the attorneys for the plaintiff and Judge Sweat counsel for the defendant. Upon the conclusion Constltn-1 of tho trial of tills case today the I court will likely adjourn for tho term. THE AVIATOR8. The airships did not fly yesterday evening, owing to a very strong cross- wind that arose. A large crowd was present and all seemed very greatly disappointed to see no flight. But, of course, tljS aviator and his commit tee cannot control tho wind and It was probably best to dlfor the flights rather than have an accident. Prof. Eels made another attempt tu fly this (Saturday) morning, but only succeeded in ascending some 25 feet. In his rapid docent damaged his ma chine, repairs will be made at onco. AVIATOR WILL NOT FLY THIS EVENING Aviator Eells will not fly this even ing, But will wait until the new en glnc arrives and can be used. Mr, Kells states that the present engine lb too weak and makes the flights Loth ludicrous and dangerous and doos not permit the machine to rise 50 feet in the air. The new powerful engine Is on the way and Is expected In the city to night, according to a telegram In the bunds of Mr. Bcrgtr. Johnny Jones and bib show leaves tonight for other pastures green. Wo have nothing against Johnny Jones, but we shall not shed any tears when ho leaves. 8MALL FIRE. A small wood house belonging to Mrs. Lucius Jenkins on Brunei street was burned lost night. The loss Is In considerable and the cause of the flro Is not known. The flro department handled the tire promptly and preven ted its spread. FLYING MEET AT HAVANA. Speciul to The Herald.
