They had been uptown 8hoping and were on their way home Godfrey carried on her ar mouse colored, grey velvet bag, just when near the corner of Williams and Gilmore streets a negro jumped the feuce and grabbed the bag and succeeded in breaking 't away from the handle which Mrs. Godfrey tained, he then jumped over the fence at the back of Mr. C. II. Andrews' home anjl disappeared. The screams of the ladles quickly gathered a crowd of men and a close search was made for the negro, hut no trace, was foun.1 of him Both ladies think they could Identify him, he was wearing a cap.
