COWART'S I The Trinity Epworth league was nio’t enjoyably entertained last night* at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. f*. Cowart, of 56 Parallel street, with an old-fashlnned school party. From the time the bell gave the signal for the rujdls to assemble In the school room til: the same bell tapped for dismis sal, the fun was continuous, and the order anything but perfect. The teacher for the evening. Miss Helene Orrel has had considerable exper ience in that line but It required something more than experiei pitserve the usual school decorum on this occasion. Arithmetic and geo.> raphy were the branches under dis ct.ssiou and were treated of very in telligently by the play-like little folks. After recitation ^ those stud ies the latest edition of the l.eaguu Taper was read. This paper Is posed of numerous and miscellaneous atticle8 contributed by the leaguers and is very interesting. The adver- tl p ements last night, which were local, were especially Interesting. Some of our merchants might gain valuable points by perusing some of them. The room was fitted up as a school room, even to the dunce block, which was not allowed to feel the pangs nf loneliness. Pupils brought lunch and at tec-ess same was dis posed of in the usual school Hid man ner. At a late hour tho teacher de cided not to requi**'' “keep-ins" remain and school was dismissed. As the children wended their sever al ways homeward the strains of “School Days” and “Make Me A Child Again" were not Inappropriate, Among those present were Misses Edith McDonald, Georgia Xewburn, Violet Clemmens, Emma nnd Jesse Myers. Yesterday he w'as in bis home in Corona not only with bis life In no danger, but with practically a new set of features, although the surgeons have not yet performed the plastic operation to give him a new' nose- one made from the tissues of some other part of the body, such as thumb or the end of a finger. Before his discharge from the hos pital on Saturday there had been a long period when the surgeons and physicians would have been satisfied merely to save his life. For some ronths after his features had been disfigured he was fed liquid nourish ment through tubes. He responded readily to treatment and his great physical strength led the surgeons to make further experiments. One ltp a had been tom from face. .Muscles were shifted and the ekir. tightened until he hafd a pair of lips. The muscles which move the Jaws - had disappeared fn the cogs. Muscles were transplanted from oth er parts of the face and neck, aad after they had grown Into place con trol of the lips and Jaws was- cztab Uz.icJ. Them Utertin was tnu.Tht it ufp new muscles. He would mov« bit dps and Jaws and talk after c fashion. At first there was thought of having LOCAL FIRM WILL CONTINUE VALUABLE AGENCY.
