THE BOV CORN GROWERS.
Almost doubling tbs number of
members In 1910 of boy3’ corn clubs
In the South eighty thousand youngft-
aterg'are on tbe last lap of the race
for the greatest yield of corn on one
acre. To the winning boy It means
wide fame, admiration, a whole lot of
good-natured envy from the lad* he
outworked and a satisfactory feeling
1own In hla heart that he has made
good. And even if only one boy can
stand at the head of the eighty thou-
sand there will be thousands beside
him who will have a satisfactory feel
ing that they have rrr.de good, for
they will have done their best. A
very few years ago the numbef of
boys who were giving their attention
to corn growing on the farms of the
Souui could be numbered by the hun
dreds. If the rate increase In their
number caused by the formation of
corn clubs continues during one or
two more years the South will have to
reckoned with when the totals of the
corn crop arc estimated. A boy conn
grower now mean:* a man qorn grower
In the future and the boy's one acre
will be enlarged until a considerable
per cent of the corn crop will grow
side by side with fields of cotton.
That will mean greater prosperity for
the South's farmers and naturally for
all the South.
