Friends of Mrs. F. H. McGee will

the union voted this afternoon to
unite in protest to the United States
Supreme Cour against w’hat they con
sider an ’Invasion of the states' rights
by federal courts.
The decisions of Judge Sanborn in
the Minnesota rate case is the par*
Ucv.lar invasion to which the Govern
ors object. I3y their action thoy es
tablish a precedent in American his
tory.
Judson Harmon, Governor of Ohio,
and former Attoriey General of the
United States, will kead a committee
of protest His -colleagues will be
Herbert S. Hadley, Governor Of Mis
souri. and Cluster H. Aldrich, Gov-,
ernor of Nebraska. Tho motion to
appoint such a committee to voice
vied* of the conference was made
by Governor Em'mett O’Neal of Ala
bama, which placed the membership
at five. Action was declared unani
mous, although Governor William W.
Kitchln of North Carolina, the twen
ty-sixth delegate, who alone opposed
it did so, he said, solely because It
