Mrs. Annie Jay, after a long Illness,
died yesterday afternoon at her
home at Beach. The deceased
survived by one child, and her fath
er, Mr. J. M. Lee, a well known cit
izen cf the county. The funeral an

church, near Beach, this afternoon

Mrs. J. L. Walker and* Miss Annie
Laurie-Walker are spending the week
in Atlanta to attend the unveiling of
Peace Monument at Pledmon t Park.
Mrs. Walker la one of the leading
spirits in D. A. R. circles of the state
and la now State Hiatoiian. A beau
tiful picture of Mrs. Walker appeared
in yesterday’* Constitution among a
groupe of State D. A. R. officers. Mrs
Walker will assist in welcoming Mrs.
Matthew T. Scott, who,- is president
general of the Daughters of the Am
erican Revolution and who is in At
lanta to attend the unveling of the
Peace Monument at Piedmont Park.
