Clarence V. T. Richeson, pastor of Immanue' Baptist Church, Cambridge, was in dicted on five counts charging murder in the first degree by the Suffollj county grand jury late this afternoon, for the alleged poisoning on Oct. i4 of his former sweetheart, Miss Avis Linnell, of Hyaniss. The grand jury reported its finding to Judge Geo. A. Sanderson in the Superior Criminal Court after hearing more than thirty witnesses during four days. Chltty, a Savannahlan, un der arrest for having cashed a draft on a Lake City, Fla., bank when it is alleged he did not . have sufficient funds therein to meet it was permit ted to attend the funeral of his (laugher, Mrs. Louis R. Walsh, who died • here yesterday. It was a sad day indeed for Mr. 9hltty. He was accompanied to the home of his daughter and to the grave at the cemetery by an officer who saw that he had no opportunity to escape, although Chitty made no effort in that direction. He seemed grateful to the police officers of tho city for having granted him the priv ilege of attending the funeral. An officer arrived for Chitty today ahd he will probably get away to the [27th and 30th, Florida city with him tonight. Mr3. Walsh has been an Invalid for several months and recently her life has been despaired of. The news of her fathers arrest was kept from her until Monday when some thoughtless friend told her of it She almost collapsed at the news and sank rap idly until she died.
