VERMILYA MAY RECOVER; IS BEING CLOSELY WATCHED Chicago, Nov. 5.—Mrs. Louise Ver* milya, accused of the murder by pois on of Policeman Arthur Blsonette and under investigation In connection with the successive deaths of eight other persons, today was pronounced prob ably recovering after her attempt to end her owif life by poison yesterday. Energetic methods to counteract the •effects of arsenic which Mrs. Vermilya cunningly contrived to mingle with her food in the presence of her guards probably will be successful, her physi cians say. Though in' a condition bordering upon nervous collapse, the accused woman was pronounced in fair physi cal condition tonight. Devandreull, who came to Waycross nearly a yeaY ago, died yesterday afternoon at tho home of his son, Mr. George Devandreull, near Waltertown. The deceased was years of ago and came to Waycro»3 front Massachusetts. His wife accorn panied him to this city and was here only a few days when she died. The funeral will bo held at- the Catholic church tomorrow morning at S o’clock, and will be conducted by Father Cas sagne. The-Interment will bo in Lott cemetery.
