Sheriff Singletary hns discovered a
negro prisoner who carried a pistol
in u hole in ills leg, just above
knee. The prisoner Is none other
t linn Alonzo Roy bum, convicted of
sti'uliug a pistol and sixteen dollars
from an old negro woman liamcn.

tol. The,sheriff was sure that he
searched hiiji thoroughly and rather
laughed at tho Idea. For safety's
sake, however, h© decided to make n

berg, they went Into tne cell and look
ed through everything.
In affecting the search, they acci-'
dentally discovered a holo In the cork
leg of the negro and in that hole found
thirty-two pistol, loaded with two
