THE RACE LABOR COMMISSIONER’S Race To Be Fought Out Be tween McCarthy And Stanley Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 15.—It' developed definitely today that there will be' only two candidates In the race for com missioner of commerce and labor, Jo seph McCarthy of Savannah and H. M. Stanley of Dublin. The time,for paying the assessment fixed by the state executive committee upon the candidates closed today frnd these wj^ the only two who paid the en trance fee in the race. B. Lee Smith of Atlanta, today an nounced his withdrawal fro*m the race, stating that his business engage ments would make it impossible for him to oonduct a campaign. It is stated that W. A. McKenna of Macon also decided to withdraw. All of the candidates for governor R. B. Russell, Joseph M. Brown an'd J. They will be released from the penitentiary tomorrow. The Governor formerly had investi gated the case of Jesse Rawlings, the youngest hoy, with a view to pardon, but decided to pardon them both. Anderson of Atlanta, pledging him his support In the con test for the short gubernatorial term. Mr. Anderson baa been prominent In politics of Georgia for the last ten years. He again managed Governor Smith’s campaign in 1908, and was a joint manager of his race In 1910.
