There were no fatalities on the American side. The battle occurred in connec tion with the campaign for suppres sing organized brigandage among tne Moros. The disarmameivt- of the entire Mo ro population of Mindanao and Jolo was ordered by the American miUiary authorities three months ago, after a number of. murderous attacks on Am erlcans. Since that time the troops *have been actively engaged in carry ing out the order. Most of % the chiefs gave up their weapons peacefully, but there 'ms been a series of sharp engagements with bandits. The casualties among the Americans have been few.
