physician of Jacksom, died at his

Mr. Dan Holsenbeck has given

ticella. The same will be com
pleted as soon as possible,
Praf. Erwin Perry, the newly
elected principal, assumed charge
of the Monticello High School last
Monday. Prof. Perry has had
considezeble experience in the
school room, is a gentleman of cul
ture and refinement, and under
his management we predict that
the school will continue to flourish.
Our citizens were highly grati-i
fied to learn that Rev, J. W. Stipe
}would be returned to the Monti
cello Methodist church, also that
Rav. L. A. McLaughlin would
continue in charge of the Monti
cello circuit. These ministers
have greatly endeared themselves
to our people during their year's
stay here,

The adjourned term of Jasper
Superior Court was held here
this week with Hon. W. N. Spence,
Judge of the Albany Circuit, pre
siding in the place of Hon, Gray
Lewis,who .. asdisqualified in some
cases, Hon. Joseph E. Pottle,
Solicitor General, looked after
the State's interests.
The same juries, both grand and
traverse, that served at the Sep
tember court, served again at
thris session.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednes
day were occupied in the trial of
the Tuggle case. A verdict of
voluntary manslaughter was ren
dered Wednesday afternoon, and
2 sentence of 12 years was given
Mr, Lee Tuggle for the killing of
Mr. Ede Kelly nearly three years
ago. A motion for a new trial
was made, and Mr. Tuggle gave
2 bond in the sum of $3,000,00.

solemnized Thursday evening at

bride’s parents, Na. 5 Hill Place.
Preceding the ceremony a solq,i

rendered by Mrs, Dr. J, E. Hanna,l
of Macon, Miss Ethel Smith, ac
companyist, after wihich “Mm-|
defisohns” was softly played and‘
the two ribbon girls formed an’
isle to the arch through which
came the groom attended by the
best man, Mr, Edwin Bellivun, of
Atlanta, Miss Martha P, King,
sister of the bride, as maid of
honor, and lastly came the bride
leaning on the arm of her father,
Mr. Wm. King, gowned in white
silk and carrying white carnations,
and as the brilliant lights of the
candles shone from the candela
bras, Rev. Wm, Aineworth, pastor
of Mulberry Methodist church im
pressively performed the cere
mony.
' The many guests were received
by Mrs. Frank Lowther, of Macon,
‘The gifts were many and beauti
ful. Geo. Mason served as decor
ator. The future home of the
couple will be Charlotte, N, C.
