Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Middle

ma Loyd spent from Friday ‘til
Sunday with relatives at Glovers,
Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Phillips
and family left Monday for their
new home in Monticello. We re
gret very much to lose these good
people from our community. They
will be greatly missed by their
many friends and neighbors here.
As Thanksgiving Day approach
es our thoughts go back to that
first notable and pathetic Thanks
giving when Gov. Bradford gath
ered together his little band of
Pilgrim fathers and mothers and
celebrated a week in Thanks
giving to the Giver of all Good for
the abundant rains which had
saved for the hard-pressed, yet,
hopeful colonists, a scanty harvest
of thelabor of their hands, but
little had tHey to be thankful for,
compared with the blessings of the
present day.
