ville. The black Christ and King
Solomon are in cells in the
~county jail at Hinesville, and the
[ queen is holding her court to-night
in a moonlic cornfield, eix miles
from here.
KING SOLOMON'S REIGN

foliowers that he was going to
Hinesville, nearly ten miles distant,
and liberate all the prisoners contin
ed there on charges of lunacy.—
He asked that fifteen of the faith

amidst the wildest excitement,
King Solomon and the chosen
started out for Hinesville. Ove by

this is still standing a small table,
and arranged around the table

There was some opposition to
this, but finally the sheet was
thrown fown,exposing the womaun's

came from. Ore or two came
trom South Carolina, forty miles
away, but most of them frem with
in three miles of the camp. The
entire number belong to the Con
gregational church,and a few to the

Old Alex \Vas’thour has given his
last piece of meat to the disciples,
and the negroes have nothing to eat
except what they can gather from
the fields around them. Undoub:s
edly the main body of followers is
smaller than it bas' been since Bell
left and it is steadily failing away.
They are out of provisions and not
half of th>m are sheltered, The
queen’s posiiion is a comparatively
veutral one, and the craze may
gradually subside and disappear
without further outbreak.
But again they may not.
All they want is a leader, and
that leader may.

There is no fear that the white

-Randoiph Coumty Rivals Kentucky in
Subterranean Wonders.
In the northern part of Randolph,
on what is kvown as the Grier
place, isa quaint and interesting
cave of considerable siZe, a minias
ture mammoth cave of Kentucky.
In company with Dr. W, W.
Binion as chsperone, behind his
splendid sorrel and in an easy rid
ing tHart bugey, we commenced
our drive for the wonderful eavern.
En route to the object sought we
passed the old plantation of the
r Wards, who in ante-bellum days
owned thousands of acres ot {hose
rich lime lands and lived in placés
in keeping with their wealth. Then
we passed the old Sam Grier plan
tation, which before the war was
one of the richest in the state, and
‘the elegzant mansion built in rich
pattern of his day was known for
Ite beauty and elegance outside of
Georgia. On this place Mr Grier
‘made a fortune burning and bar. ‘

THE CAVE DESCRIBED.

A SUBTERRANEAN STREAM.

guide for this babbling brook as it
wends its way over its pebbly bed.
We caunot say how far this ecavern
exten!s but 150 yarls only carries

new shaped shel's,new curosities,
which show that this mighthave
suce been the bed or bottom of some
marine body or the habitation of
arine animals.
There is close to this cave aifi old
Indian trail end various were the
superstitions of this aboriginal tribe
concerning it, one of which is that
it was the abode of King Eolus
and at this opening he sat guard
in .iskingly splendor to surpross
the wind if humanity pleased him,
or, let them fly out inrapid ruin if
ot satisfied with morta! doing.s

L. Watehfield, a wellsknown Col
orado policeman. A monih ago
Ora Chatfield was suffering from
nervoud prostration. The matter
was investigated, and it was ascer
toined that she was madly in love
with Miss Deitrich, with whom
she was living. The two were torn
apartand a warcant was procured
in Aspin for the arrest of the elder
girl. with an intention to have an
investization made as to her sani
ty. Many intcrestinf love letters
have passed between the pair. They
are supposed to be in Denver, but
have pot_been found yet. Miss
Deitrich is a blonde, twenty four
years of age, tall, witha good fig
ure and commanding presence,
Miss Chatfield is about fifteen
years ot age, rather slender and of
delicate physique. She, hawever,
is a remarkably har dsome girl and
would attract attention any vhere.
She appears to reciprocate the af=
fection of her older companion
and her letters to the latter are
