Prof. Morgan L, Parkor.
Prof. Morgan =~ L Parker,
has been President of the South
Ga., Mdle and Female College at
Dawson, for only one year, but
from the resoludons, drawn by
the trustees of the College, and
published in this issue of the Nuws
it will be seen that he and his as
sistants are highly apggeciated by
this body, asa corps of teachers
who have done their duty, and are
building up the school in our
city. &
In maoy places thronghout the
South, it is becoming very com
mon for teachers -to begin practics
ing their pupiis for commencement
by the time the term is half out.
This is a greivous fanlt in many of
our schools, but is one that Pros
fessor Parker’s school iz clear of.
All the lessons were earried on, up
to two days before the examiias
tion, the same as they were at the
beginning of the texm, and no one
could nccuse Prof. Parker nf‘mv
ing drilled the pupils. The®eom
mencement wes a per.ect success,
and takirg everything into consids

man in the right place and the eit

to assist him in making the school
