Y advantages of Cotton Seed Meal. as a feed and fertilizer, (n‘rrr}
T cotton secd ) have becoms g 9 well known that we need not speak
of ite merite to those who have used it. To those who have not, we r}im'[
ply refer them to those who have tested the meal, both as a feed and fer—
tilizer for several years, ‘
The examination made by the Commissioner of Agriculture for the |
State of Georgia, of ditferent kinds of compounded fertilizers, giving |
their Commercial valucs, based vpon their valualle ingredients of Phos— |
phoric acid, Pot sh and Amonia, shows the fact that these fertilizers |
which contain the largest proportion of COTTON SELD MEAL re
rated as being among the most valuable.
PURE MEAL without admixture of any kind i« one ot the most val
ushle Fertilizers ofiered for use, snd eonsidered next to pure Peruvian
Guano, and by mixine the meal in proper proptions with goed Acid
Phosphate makes one of the best end cheapost Fertilizers now in use.
And we insist that it is to the intersst of every farmer to exchange their
Cotton Seed jor Meal, sinee it hug been.proven from fair tost, made by
some of the best farmers of Terrell conity, thet one pound of Meal is
worth as mucn as three pounds of Seed, when we will give ore pound of
meal for two pounds of seed. Owve ton of eeed when worked up is as
follows : Abcut 1060 hs, Hull.
About 700 tbs. Meal.
About 300 bz, Oil.
We give vou half ton meal for cne ton of recd which is 300 Ibs. nieal
more than your ton of seed made, or we will give you all the meal your:
seed makes and the hulls, on'y keeping the oil fur our trouble of put-!
ing the fertilizing propesties of the seed in a perfeet mechanical condi
tion as a fertilizer, and then the meal ecan be distributed with hali the
labor that is required to distribute the reed. It is admitted by ali Cliem
irxi that the oil of cotton seed is worthlisg as a tertilizer, and the hulls
not containing enongh fertilizing properties to pay for the trouble of
hauling them, but the hulls are an excellent food for cattle. Several
gaw mill men who use oxcn ty heul with, tecd their oxen on hull and
nieal entirely. The meal has great etrength and when the hulls sre fed
to cattle with a small amount of meai mived, the richuess of the manure
droped far exceeds the manure from any other food.

Th i ki,
“My dear, pray what shal: we do?”
Once asked my loving wife;
We have vo cook, vou knew, now,
To stem the kitehen’s strite;
This stooping avd evoking
Over fires large and hot,
Is perplexing and vexing,
Oh! who has welt it not?
“The Inhors ot the kitchen,
Nince our negroes went away,
Wers hoth wilsonie end irkeoine,
And stili are 8o to day}
Can’t you lighten and brizliten
This load ot heavy care,
That distreeses, oppresses,
And drives we to desprir ?”
Zaid I, 'l go to FuLTON'S
Aud there a stove I’ buy,
No matter what the price is,
An Irox Kiva I'tl try;
Then rossting and tossting,
Will not wear pway your ife,
But a pleasure and a treasure
Be t» you my angel wife.”
R 0 down to town T hurried, 1
Almoest as qeick as thought, 1
Aud there from Joux A. Furrox, |
An Irox Krxia I housht; !
And now broiling and boiling
Are the sweetest works in life, I
No more euring, despairing,
Distresses now my wite. ‘
Farewell, ve dirty negroes,
I'm independent now,
For wife can do the cooking,
With a smile upon her brow;
No whining. no repining, |
No angry threatenings ring, |
But my meals now, reveal now,
How cheap is Irox Kina.
Bo now if you'd appease
A weary, snflering wife,
Her kitchen triais sct at caze,
Secure a stove for life;
It'll varm you and churm you,
Drive discontent away,
Both your wife then, and life then,
Pirove sweet a 8 flowers vf May.
